Natural Acne Solutions

You can be sure that for every ailment, Mother Nature has a solution.  Therefore, it makes sense that there are natural acne solutions out there waiting to be discovered.  They have always been here it is just perhaps we have not found them yet.  Or maybe we have.

Take a look at the Burt’s bees acne solutions.  One product is the Herbal Blemish Stick which contains Willowbark and interestingly, Willowbark contains salicylic acid which is a typical over the counter exfoliant used to remove dead skin and keep your pours clean.  This product also contains Tea Tree oil which a large number of people seem to be using to reduce their acne as well as Juniper oil.  Both of these oils have antiseptic and astringent properties.  The antiseptic property helps kill off the bacteria that cause acne while the astringent properties help remove the dead skin which are clogging the pores.

Another product is Burt’s Bees Anti-Blemish Clarifying Toner which also contains Willowbark as well as Witch Hazel and Lemon Grass Extracts.  Witch Hazel has astringent, antiseptic and antibacterial properties while Lemon Grass extract is an antiseptic and astringent as well.

Applying these products to the area affected by acne has been found, by a number of people, to improve their acne.

Diet, the Natural Acne Solution

While it is not as well publicized, one of the most common natural acne solutions is to improve your diet and start to eat healthier.  It has now been clinically proven that there is a link between acne and diet.  The statement, “Dermatologists can no longer dismiss the association between diet and acne” was published in an article written by Bowe et al in the July 2010 Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology.

The thing is that for the most part people do not like change which they themselves do not initiate.  That is to say that if a doctor tells you to improve your eating habits you are unlikely to make the change.  However, when the pain of your acne becomes greater than your resistance to changing your diet then you will gladly make the change.

Once you start an improved diet you will notice that certain foods which you use to like don’t taste very good any more.  After I started to improve my diet, I started to cut down the sugar in almost every recipe which I use, in some cases, I now have the sugar in half the suggested quantity and still find the desert sweet.

Acne in some ways can be considered to be an internal challenge and your body is finding ways to get rid of what it does not want.  Improving your diet is one way to lessen what your body has to deal with.  The choice is always yours so when you make the choice to consume inappropriate food please also realize that you are making the choice to increase your acne.
